We arrived in Nova Scotia at 9.15pm. We added an hour going through another time zone. When, we disembarked our bags were being unloaded from the van outside customs. The customs officer we saw wasn’t worried about our bags he was grilling us more on where our money came from to do all our travelling, what our jobs were and if we had employment to go back to in Australia. It was the most Sharon & I have ever been interrogated with a customs officer. We have since found out that when Trump became president more US citizens have been over staying their visas. Hence the increase in scrutiny with customs. When he was eventually happy with our answers we walked through the exit right in front of Enterprise where we picked up our car rental for eight days. It is a down grade from the Ford Explorer. It’s a Chevrolet Sonic. Sort of like a Barina Sedan. It’s very flimsy but does have room for our packs. Also, it is the most efficient vehicle we have had. It has a range of nearly 800km fro...

We arrived in Boston 3.00pm. Then straight to an Uber to get us to our accommodation at Abercrombie Farrington Inn. The outside of the buildings looked well maintained. Inside was quite run down. Anything in the heart of Boston was going to cost from AU $1350 for 3 nights. We payed AU $490. We had our own room with shared bathroom. Boston was only US $2.75 each to get into the city all was good. Sunday, we headed to Boston Common, a park in the centre of the city. The park dates back to 1634. Being the oldest city park in the USA. The history of the park over the years has had many uses. Public hangings up to 1817. Cattle & sheep grazing, Public burial. The bodies are still there, you just don't know where! Having been occupied by the British Redcoats, anti-slave protests during the civil war, anti-war protests during the Vietnam war and much more. We decided to do a walking tour called the Freedom Trail. Our guide was a Mel Gibson look alike and sounded exactly like him. We...

When we arrived at Kalispell about 10.30am on Saturday I needed a hair cut. Looked up the closest barber and happened to be just across from the carpark we were in. The barber reminded me of movies where it was more of a local gathering than a hairdresser. They had a pool table, bar, animal skulls, old historical photographs and posters about their 2nd amendment (right to bare arms). Customers & staff seemed to know each other well and many topics were discussed. We had not seen a movie for a while and decided to watch “Solo” a Star Wars story. Which I enjoyed between resting my eyes. Then we made our way to Greenwood Village where we stayed for the night. We came across the road being closed due to roadwork's. We were only 2mins from our accommodation. No signs directing you anywhere so I chose another way around entering from the east side rather than the west. After driving down back alleys, that were blocked also. We drove all the way back again. Entered from a differen...

Wednesday our last day in Anchorage. After saying goodbye to those carrying on the tour of Alaska I went into town to check out their museum. We weren't told our tour was in 2 parts so 4 of us left and 1 joined. The museum was a mix of art & history. I had spent a couple of hours there before joining Sharon for lunch. I went back to the museum after lunch it was certainly one of the best things to do in Anchorage. Thursday morning and our 3 rd Delta flight. Also 3 rd time in Seattle. I usually don't like flying mainly we always seem to have obnoxious people on board. Each one of our Delta flights have been a great trip. The air crew have been friendly and no annoying people on-board. Friday morning in Seattle we just filled in time watching Netflix. We didn't have to check out of the hotel until 12.00pm. After our check out it was a 1mile (1.6km) walk to Seattle’s light railway. It was back at the airport and this took us to King Street Station to get on th...
